Terms of service

A useful read,
not a verdict.

These terms govern your use of Ourotype, including the free assessment, paid individual reports, and team experiences.

Effective July 25, 2026

Agreement and eligibility

By using Ourotype or completing a purchase, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use Ourotype for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to act for it.

What Ourotype is

Ourotype is a self-reflection and team-conversation product inspired by Jungian type theory. It is not a clinical test, diagnosis, medical or mental-health advice, professional counseling, or a validated hiring instrument. Results are descriptive interpretations, not facts, predictions, or guarantees.

Do not use an Ourotype result as the sole basis for employment, promotion, compensation, admission, healthcare, credit, insurance, or another decision that materially affects someone’s rights or opportunities.

Free and paid products

The free product includes the assessment and free result available at the time you take it. Paid products are one-time purchases that unlock the report or team experience described at Checkout. Prices and included features are shown before payment and may change for future purchases.

An individual report purchase includes a six-week email series with related exercises. You can stop the remaining messages at any time by contacting Support. This is not a subscription and there is no recurring charge.

Payment, delivery, and access

Stripe processes payment. You agree to provide current, accurate purchase information and authorize the displayed one-time charge. Digital access is normally delivered immediately after successful payment and by email. Delays can occur if a payment is still processing or an email provider rejects delivery.

Report magic links, team dashboard links, and team join codes can reveal personal results. Keep them private. You are responsible for activity performed through links you share, except where the problem was caused by Ourotype.

Team responsibilities

A team facilitator is responsible for inviting participants lawfully, explaining how results will be used, limiting access to the intended group, and respecting participant privacy. Participation should be voluntary where required by law or workplace policy. Facilitators may see participant names, types, scores, and team patterns.

Team results are meant to improve discussion, not label, rank, or screen people. Facilitators must not use them for discriminatory or high-stakes employment decisions.

Permitted use

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use purchased content for your own reflection or, for a team purchase, with the covered participants. You may print or save your own report. You may not resell, republish, scrape, systematically copy, distribute, reverse engineer, interfere with, or use the service to build a competing report library or assessment.

Ourotype’s writing, design, software, and original assessment materials remain ours or our licensors’. Ourotype is not affiliated with Myers-Briggs® or 16Personalities®.

Refunds

Our Refund Policy is part of these terms. It explains how we handle duplicate or unauthorized charges, delivery problems, and other requests. Nothing in these terms limits non-waivable consumer rights available under applicable law.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Ourotype available and accurate, but we do not promise uninterrupted access or that every interpretation will fit every person. We may repair, change, suspend, or discontinue features. Where practical, we will preserve access to already purchased content or offer an appropriate remedy.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, Ourotype is provided “as is” and without implied warranties. We are not responsible for decisions you or a facilitator make based on a result, indirect or consequential losses, or problems caused by third-party services or links outside our reasonable control.

To the extent permitted by law, Ourotype’s total liability arising from a paid product will not exceed the amount you paid for that product. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, including liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Ending access and changes to these terms

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, security risks, unlawful conduct, or a material breach of these terms. You may stop using the service at any time and may request deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms as Ourotype changes. The effective date above will show the latest version. Material changes will be communicated when required and will apply prospectively.
